What the Experts Don't Want You to Know About Trans Vaginoplasty
My recent conversation with detransitioner Ritchie Herron
Hi everyone! I hope you all had a lovely holiday. Happy New Year!
I recently sat down with Ritchie Herron, an insightful, wise, thoughtful, and searingly honest man who underwent trans vaginoplasty and suffers from horrible regret and complications.
Ritchie has a brilliant and clear way of expressing what happened, and what it all means. In this conversation, he takes me through his story. He explains the pain, the phantom limb sensations, the lack of all feeling and sexual function, and the myriad other medical problems that arose after his vaginoplasty (AKA penile inversion).
Ritchie first came to my attention in June 2022 when his twitter thread about his experience went viral.
My hope is that by spreading Ritchie’s story and those of other detransitioners, we can reach people who are considering these medical interventions before it is too late. If even one person sees Ritchie’s testimony and reconsiders vaginoplasty, that would be a worthy result of his speaking out.
Once again, thank you for subscribing to my substack. Please feel free to leave a comment if you have any suggestions for what you’d like to see covered or who you’d like me to interview.
